Giuseppe Cappellano is a Type B fixed-term researcher-RTD-b, working as a member of Immunomics Lab since 2018. He obtained his PhD in molecular medicine (2009) and currently his research activity is focused on: i) the study of ICOS/ICOSL/OPN interaction in EAE and ii) the development of autologous synovia-on-chip, as a sustainable preclinical model for drug discovery and clinical trials on chip for rheumatoid arthritis.

Davide Raineri is an assistant professor since March 2023. He obtained a PhD in medical sciences and biotechnology in 2020. During his PhD, he studied the interaction of osteopontin and its new receptor (ICOSL). He currently manages the various projects involving the use of the instrumentation present within the new generation cytometry facility, for which he is the referent, comprising the FACSymphony A5 flow cytometer, the cell sorter FACSAria FUSION, the mass cytometer and also the BD RHAPSODY.

Fabiola Stolfi is a PhD student in Food, Health and Longevity at UPO. She obtained a Master Degree in Medical, Veterinary and Forensic biotechnological sciences at the University of Perugia in 2020. Her lines of research comprise: (i) biomarker research in Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), performing an immune cell and Extracellular Vesicles (EVs) phenotyping in MDD patients; (ii) the construction of a 3D synovia-on-chip composed by synovial unit from the biopsies of Rheumatoid Arthritis patients (iii) deep characterization of the pathological mechanisms of knee osteoarthritis.

Hugo Abreu is an Early Stage Researcher currently working on the MSCA PREMUROSA project. He obtained his master degree in Molecular, Comparative and Technologic Genetics in 2020. His current PhD line of research explores the impact of bulk biomaterials in tissue regeneration, focusing on immune and stem cells and extracellular vesicles. He has also collaborated in other lines of research including COVID-19, multiple sclerosis, and organ-on-chip.

Sara Nembrini graduated in Experimental and Applied Biology in 2022, with a special focus on the microbiology field. She joined the Immunomics lab in December 2022, where she is developing a method for isolation of extracellular vesicles (both eukaryotic and bacterial ones) from stool samples, with the aim of studying them in autoimmune diseases. Moreover, she studies the extracellular vesicles (EVs) phenotype in intoxicated patients. Sara is a member of the National Order of Biologists (senior level) and currently is doing the specialty in medical genetics. 

Chiara Venegoni is a Ph.D. student in Food, Health and Longevity, at in the Immunomics lab. She joined the Immunomics lab in March 2020. During her master’s degree in Medical Biotechnology, she investigated the role of the circulating EVs as potential biomarkers for SARS-CoV-2 infection. After, in 2022, she enrolled in the Ph.D. programme in Food, Health and Longevity, aiming to deeply investigate the role of EVs in the relationship between autoimmune diseases and gut microbiota.

Federica Dell’Atti is a PhD student in Food, Health and Longevity at UPO. She graduated in Medical Biotechnologies at UPO in July 2022 and enrolled in the PhD program a few months later. The objective of her project is to establish that the mechanism through which probiotics alleviate joint inflammation associated with arthritic disorders involves the release of extracellular vesicles. This project is a collaboration between the Immunomics laboratory and the ROELMI HPC company.
